About the Grapevine Downy Mildew Genome project

The data available on this site was generated by French National Institute for Agricultural Research (INRA) as part of the grapevine downy mildew genome project.

The aim of the project is to obtain the first extensive genomic data on the agent responsible for grapevine downy mildew (Plasmopara viticola). We have produced a high quality genome assembly using PacBio long reads together with polymorphism data by resequencing 60 strains. These data will allow to gain new insights into the genome evolution of this oomycete plant pathogen, such as the mechanisms responsible for its adaptation to the host plant.
